Because of this product, I am currently sitting on my couch in physical pain. Last night after taking a shower, I applied this product around my eyes. I've been suffering from pretty bad dry skin around my eyes and mouth for the last year, and while I've gotten it pretty under control, I really just wanted to get rid of it completely by summer. That's when I found Burt's Bees Sensitive Eye Cream. This stuff is supposed to be made for sensitive skin, but boy oh boy does this stuff burrrrn. The skin around my eyes looked like it was starting to bruise, and I honestly felt like someone had punched me in the face. I still feel like someone punched me in the face and it's been almost 24 hours since I tested out this product.
When I went to bed, the skin around my eyes was super sore, but I was pretty happy with how they felt in terms of moisture. When I woke up it was a different story. My eyes are so dry, and the damage feels really deep. I have lizard skin now thanks to this product.
Right on the box this product claims to "moisturize without causing redness or irritation", but instead this eye cream managed to painfully damage my skin even more. I am quite disappointed with this product. Actually that is an understatement; I am enraged. If you value your skin, do not go near this stuff. :(

  1. i know burt's bees lip products have peppermint oil in them, is that in this product and do you think that's what caused the irritation?

    1. I've used peppermint oil before, and I've never reacted badly to it, but I'm not certain if it's in this cream anyways.

    1. I didn't even think of that. Probably a good possibility.

  3. I also have pretty bad dry skin around my mouth because of my facial wash but I am using water-based moisturizer right after washing my face. I use iWhite Korea Aqua-based moisturizer.

  4. I'm so sorry that happened to you! You should always test a product on a different part of the skin before putting it in any sensitive areas!

  5. You should write an e-mail to the company. People's bodies react differently to cosmetics and the companies should be aware of the reactions they caused. Besides, they might give you a free product or a gift card!

  6. I would definitely email the company or say something on facebook! That is such a bizarre reaction!

  7. You should test the products first in a small portion of your skin to avoid such reactions. Anyway, you should e-mail the company about this. Be careful next time!
